Dalmore to Garynahine Community Plan
The Dalmore to Garynahine community area is Community Account Managed (CAM) by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE). As the anchor organisation, Urras Oighreachd Chàrlabhaigh employs a Local Development Officer who works with community organisations in the area. CAM allows groups in the area to access support from HIE through the anchor organisation. HIE also supported the community in delivering the Dalmore to Garynahine Community Plan.
Development of the community plan began with extensive community engagement in 2017 and 2018, led by staff from Carloway Community Association, Urras nan Tursachan and Urras Oighreachd Chàrlabhaigh. This engagement included public meetings, focus groups, a household survey, desktop research and a population audit. The engagement highlighted the objectives and priorities of the community. These form the basis of the plan alongside the key areas for development. The plan, published in September 2019, will help inform and guide development in the area. It is anticipated that the plan will be reviewed and updated regularly.
Copies of the plan have been delivered to every house in the Dalmore to Garynahine area. If any members of the community have not received a hard copy of the plan please get in touch with Local Development Officer Donald MacKinnon ( email donald@carlowayestatetrust.co.uk).
