Development Manager

Full-Time: 37 hours per week
Salary:  £32,500 per annum
Fixed Term: 12 months

 

Urras Oighreachd Chàrlabhaigh (Carloway Estate Trust) is seeking to recruit an energetic and self-motivated individual to play a pivotal role in the management and growth of the organisation. This is a rare opportunity to lead a small team in a vibrant community organisation.

 

Applicants will have excellent communication skills, a keen interest in the work of the land trusts and a willingness to work outside normal office hours as required. The ability to work on your own initiative is essential.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Development Manager will have overall management and responsibility for the day-to-day running of the organisation. This will include managing the staff team (currently three full-time members of staff), dealing with crofting matters, maintaining good relationships with key stakeholders and managing key projects, including tourism initiatives such as the refurbishment of Doune Broch Visitor Centre.

 

The Development Manager will work closely with the Board of Directors and staff team to maintain a sustainable model, including applying for funding for relevant projects and posts. The Development Manager will have overall responsibility for managing project finances and budgets.

 

The Development Manager will have responsibility for all internal and external communications. The Development Manager will play a critical role in the governance of the organisation and hold the post of Company Secretary. 

 

This post is fixed-term for 12 months, but there may be opportunities to extend the contract subject to funding.
